Karen’s enthusiasm for the arts has been a major part of her life. She graduated from Indiana State University with a BA in Advertising. Her career in advertising as an Art Director, Creative Director lasted 28 years, primarily in Chicago. While handling both National and International clients, she also taught “Creative Thinking”. After arriving in Santa Fe, she was inspired and challenged to build her own home, which then in turn led to attending Santa Fe Community College. There she graduated with an Associates degree in Interior Design and Kitchen and Bath Design. Recently she has been staging homes and consulting using all of her background to creatively assist clients in presenting their residences in the very best light for the sale their homes.
A Spiritual High
Considering the history of the Applegate House and the spirit of the New Mexican culture, a private chapel would be on the property or in the house. Inspired by many chapels around the world, it lends itself to simplicity and elegance.
Time has evolved but the need hasn’t. It is my belief that a contemporary version of this meditative space is not only a luxury but required for this estate.
So as you ascend the stairs, you will find it transformed.
